Whenever my ED gets really bad, I start to become paranoid about calories and withdraw socially; consuming foods that I haven't prepared myself is very distressing. Here are some of my stand-bys to pass as a normal person. I always ask for mixers on the side and add sour, tequila mix etc. myself to better estimate calories and always bring my own diet coke or 0-cal lemonade (because I'm paranoid lol). Of course, you can always order a water or diet soda if you would prefer not to drink!
Cosmo: 1.5 oz. vodka + soda water + splash diet cranberry juice (10/10 recommend raspberry vodka) Lemondrop: 1.5 oz. vodka + 0-cal lemonade + splash sour + lots of lemons + stevia to taste Margarita: 1.5 oz. tequila + soda water + splash sour mix + limes (jalapenos or infused tequilas are delicious) Moijto: 1.5 oz. white rum + soda water + mint + lots of limes + stevia to taste Paloma: 1.5 oz. tequila + soda water + splash grapefruit juice + oranges Spiked lemonade: 1.5 oz. vodka + lemonade (infusing the lemonade with herbs, like thyme or lavender, is also very tasty!) Texas raz: 1.5 oz. raspberry vodka + 0-calorie lemonade + splash soda water + muddled raspberries + lemon Other good choices are: Mike's light hard lemonade (98 cals), Amstel light (95 cals), Corona light (99 cals), Sam Adams light (119 cals), Guiness draught (126 cals), & champagne (90 cals). Nutrition (4 servings per recipe): 151 calories (I used mostly strawberries, which are lower calorie than other berries)
Ingredients: For filling: 4-5 c. mixed berries + 1 tsp. cornstarch + 2 packets stevia + 1 tsp. vanilla extract + zest of 1 large lemon For topping: 1/2 c. oats + 1/2 T. honey + 1/2 tsp. cinnamon + pinch of nutmeg Instructions: 1. Mix filling ingredients together. Add to a glass pan. 2. Mix together oats and spices. Spread over the berry mixture. Drizzle honey over the oat topping. 3. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 min. For an extra 60 calories, top with 1/4 c. of Halo Top vanilla ice cream (P.S. it's soooo worth it!) Nutrition: 50-100 calories
Instructions: 1. Spray a nonstick pan with nonstick cooking spray. Remove excess with a paper towel. 2. Add 3T. egg beaters to a pan over medium heat. Season and cover for 3-5min, until cooked through. 3. Slide from pan and fill with sauteed spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, zucchini, or other low calorie veggies spiced with fajita seasoning and garlic. Top with 2T. salsa and cilantro. |
